Intro to Robotics | 2nd - 5th Grade
April 1st @ Union High School
9am drop off to 2pm pick up
This one-day camp is designed to teach basic Engineering and Programming concepts to your child through hands-on instructive learning. Students will spend part of their day exploring the fundamentals of Scratch based coding, using drag and drop block programming. During the second half of their day, they will work in small groups learning build principles through project based collaborative learning. These camps teach teamwork, perseverance, and STEM fun all in one day!
Engineering & Safety Principles | 2nd - 5th Grade
April 2nd @ Union High School
9am drop off to 2pm pick up
Learn the beginning Design Process framework as well as explore the concepts of Engineering through a series of challenges during this one day build focused camp. Students will also learn general safety skills to help set the stage for future building projects. This one day Engineering and Safety camp will include games, active learning, and group cooperation as students work to complete their Engineering marvels.
Programming Fundamentals | 2nd - 5th Grade
April 3rd @ Union High School
9am drop off to 2pm pick up
This camp will allow students to explore the world of programming through block programming and see the results on interactive devices called Ollies. Students are sure to be surprised as they watch the results of their programming efforts while learning graduated coding skills. Our highly skilled team members have several fun interactive games to help campers learn programming in this introductory camp.

Summer Robotics Camp

CAD Camps | 5th - 8th Grade
June 24th or August 12th @ Union High School

In this camp you will learn about the basics of making parts and assemblies using cloud based 3D modeling software. After exploring a series of leveled design challenges, login from home and continue to build your skills!
Engineering Camp | 5th - 8th Grade
June 25th or August 13th @ Union High School
9am drop off to 3pm pick up
After learning the fundamentals of Engineering and the Design Process, along with important safety guidelines, work with your team to use real Tetrix robotics parts and complete the day's challenge. You never know, there may be a friendly competition as well!
Programming Fundamentals | 5th - 8th Grade
June 26th or August 14th @ Union High School
9am drop off to 3pm pick up
This camp will introduce aspiring roboticians to the concepts of programming, and show them how to apply their skills to control a robot. It gives participants a chance to practice flow control by learning how to use OnBot Java to program and navigate an obstacle course. No driver's license necessary!

Now that you've gained new skills and confidence during the first 3 days of camp, push your newfound robotics skills to the test in this 1 day challenge camp! Members will work to design, program, and build a functioning mini-bot in this fun, safe, and exciting camp! (This camp only available as part of a 4 day session)

Geared Reaction

is a group of 12-15 members who work hard year round competing in Washington State. This year, we are Washington State Champions, and qualified for the World Championship in Houston, TX, taking 15th out of the 160 teams invited to participate from a 7000 team pool across 70 countries! However, we are more than a competition team, Geared Reaction does everything from rock climbing and ice skating, to playing band hero and bowling. is a non-profit organization founded by Dean Kamen to turn robotics into a sport as exciting as football or soccer. FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is a competition between 7000+ teams in over 70 different countries to create the best possible robot for a given set of challenges. Teams spend 12 months strategizing, fundraising, designing, building, and programing for the challenge. They develop leadership, teamwork and marketing skills while having an amazing experience! Union High School Robotics Club

Formed in 2012, Union Robotics has grown from a small group of motivated students to an expansive club offereing opportunities to every Union Titan, experienced and new. We pride ourselves in our ambition to spread STEM interest and knowledge through our whole community. We have two major components: our competition team, Geared Reaction which travels to competitions and represents Union Robotics, and the Union Robotics Club. The Club involves learning engineering, programming, safety, manufacturing and more! This may be perfect for you if you are commited to many activities at Union but still want to uncover the greatness that is robotics!
